COMPREDICT Partners with BlackBerry IVY
Strategic investment and technology partnership through BlackBerry IVY Innovation Fund to accelerate Virtual Sensor deployment at scale
Strategic Technology Partnership
In addition to being an investor at COMPREDICT through its BlackBerry IVY Innovation Fund, BlackBerry is also a strategic partner. The connected vehicle data platform BlackBerry IVY™, built in partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS), makes it much easier for COMPREDICT to access vehicle data in a normalized way.
This partnership simplifies our ability to manage large scale OEM deployments while making COMPREDICT hardware and OS platform agnostic, reducing connectivity costs for automakers.
Partnership Benefits
- Strategic investment through BlackBerry IVY Innovation Fund
- Direct integration with BlackBerry IVY platform
- Hardware and OS platform agnostic deployment
- Reduced connectivity costs for automakers
- Seamless over-the-air Virtual Sensor deployment
- Access to 215+ million vehicles worldwide
Technology Integration
BlackBerry IVY™ enables COMPREDICT to work efficiently on solutions that can be deployed in many different vehicles without potentially touching any hardware or vehicle. This makes COMPREDICT hardware and OS platform agnostic while reducing connectivity costs for the automaker.
Partners can benefit from direct over-the-air deployments of BlackBerry IVY, including our Virtual Sensors. BlackBerry QNX operating systems are already an industry standard, and BlackBerry IVY will add many features for the age of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV).
Live Demonstration Success
At the CES Show in January 2023 in Las Vegas, COMPREDICT's Virtual Sensors for tire and brake wear were deployed directly in BlackBerry IVY™, in a Jeep Grand Cherokee demo car. The Virtual Sensors computed current wear and forecast of future wear in real-time.
This demonstration showcased the power of Virtual Sensors integrated directly into the BlackBerry IVY platform, proving the concept works seamlessly in production vehicle environments.
Market Impact
BlackBerry is a global leader in automotive software, with the company's QNX® technology used by 24 of the top 25 EV OEMs and embedded in more than 215 million vehicles worldwide. This partnership gives COMPREDICT unprecedented access to vehicle platforms and the ability to scale rapidly.
As a strategic investor, BlackBerry delivers synergies with its IVY platform, which provides a competitive advantage by allowing us to seamlessly integrate our virtual sensors directly into vehicles. Automakers will greatly benefit by extending our Virtual Sensors from the cloud to the vehicle's edge.
COMPREDICT's industry-leading virtual sensing technology combined with deep automotive domain expertise matches BlackBerry IVY's vision of enabling advanced vehicle data insights for automakers and the broader mobility ecosystem. We are thrilled to bring them into the BlackBerry IVY ecosystem to support their mission of making accurate predictive maintenance and vehicle diagnostics more accessible.
Technical Capabilities
The BlackBerry IVY platform enables COMPREDICT to:
- Deploy Virtual Sensors directly at the edge
- Access normalized vehicle data across multiple OEMs
- Manage large-scale deployments efficiently
- Provide real-time insights without additional hardware
- Enable predictive maintenance algorithms in-vehicle
This partnership represents a significant step forward in making Virtual Sensors accessible to any vehicle manufacturer, regardless of their existing technology stack or hardware configuration.
