COMPREDICT, an AI-based Virtual Sensor specialist, is proud to be part of the h1st vision car presented at Vivatech 2023 in Paris. The h1st vision car is the result of a co-innovation ecosystem of 25 partners, initiated by the Software République.
COMPREDICT brings on-board and real-time monitoring of the wear of brakes and tires, without any additional hardware, for safer and more sustainable mobility.
The problem
Brake and tire wear are not only a major safety issue but also a significant source of particle emissions from non-exhaust sources. Currently, their replacement is mainly based on periodic checks, or for some premium vehicles on-board monitoring with dedicated hardware sensors. Because of the cost, hardware sensors cannot be deployed at a large scale.
Our solution
COMPREDICT’s purely software-based solution provides on-board, real-time, and cost-effective monitoring of brake and tire wear. It relies on AI-based Virtual Sensors, which are smart algorithms using already available vehicle data. The information is available at each ignition off and can also be sent to the cloud for fleet monitoring.

Brake wear monitoring
Our Virtual Sensors provide an estimation of the remaining thickness of each brake pad. This helps to:
- Anticipate the replacement of brake pads and avoid unnecessary checks.
- Prevent safety risks related to worn brakes.
- Adopt a driving style that reduces brake wear and particle emissions.
Tire wear monitoring
Our Virtual Sensors provide an estimation of the remaining tread depth of each tire. This helps to:
- Anticipate the replacement of tires and avoid unnecessary checks.
- Prevent safety risks related to worn tires (aquaplaning, grip loss).
- Optimize tire swapping between front and rear axles.
- Adopt a driving style that reduces tire wear and microplastic emissions.
